Day 1- It All Starts With God
It all starts with God…. What a great starting place to begin our journey of 40 days of purpose.
Looking for purpose. Where to look? Inward or upward? According to our Day 1 readings it makes it obvious that looking inward is a futile effort, however much of what is coming at us everyday reinforces the concept that purpose is found as you take care of your own needs, or even the needs of our families perhaps? After all, isn’t a part of our purpose having big dreams, goals and ambitions? They are what help make us successful in life don’t they? And isn’t being successful what it’s all about?
The first line in our reading today tells us that we begin with different perspective, one that guides our entire journey. “It’s not about you.” Actually my feeling is one of relief that I don’t have to be at the center of my own universe with a bunch of arbitrary self imposed success ideas being my task masters.
